Of course Ubisoft’s Dunia-powered Far Cry 2 will be officially released only next week – on the 21st in North America and the 24th in Europe, but AMD may be betting on an early leak.

IGN had their reporters Alex Simmons and Martin Robinson sit down to have a go at multiplayer and while they do emphasize that Far Cry 2 MP has some nice distinguishing features their overall conclusion is unmistakable:

“Unfortunately the main shooting mechanics of Far Cry 2 don’t stand up to the opposition, it’s not as fast or precise, and that’s quite obvious in multiplayer. It’s not as solid a shooter as either Halo 3 or Call of Duty 4, and I’m not sure if it does enough different to oust either of those games from the top spot.”

“That’s what I was saying earlier – it does what it does well, but it’s nothing outstanding.”

There are feature that are much appreciated by IGN as well like the vehicles, reviving, self healing to name a few.

However at the end of the day according to IGN Far Cry 2 is mainly a singleplayer experience and with some spare time an hour or two on multiplayer should not be a waiste of time:
” Far Cry will always be a single-player game to me – that’s why I’m excited about playing through Far Cry 2, to explore the open world and have an experience that’ll be different from anyone else’s. And while I don’t think the multiplayer has to same edge as Call of Duty, I do think it’s an entertaining way to spend a few hours. I’ll definitely give it a go when the final game comes out.”

Eurogamer is quite happy with the multiplayer component of Far Cry 2:
“We’re sure that it’s the single-player game that most gamers are waiting for, but it’s still good to know that there’s a hefty set of deathmatch options to back it up. On the basis of what we’ve played, we reckon this could garner quite a sizeable online following – a following that will certainly include us.”

The official Xbox360 magazine lets us know that in their upcoming magazine there will be an extensive review on Far Cry 2. They reveal that Far Cry 2 is very good according to them and they even let us know it hits 9/10 in their verdict:
“Far Cry 2 is this year’s equivalent of Assassin’s Creed… when it comes to enveloping the player in exotic sights and sounds, Ubisoft has absolutely nailed it,” says our reviewer Ben Talbot, explaining why Far Cry 2 could be this year’s big hit like Ubisoft’s acrobatic Assassin’s Creed was in 2007. “What separates Far Cry 2 from other shooters of this ilk is that there really aren’t any rules to follow.”

News for Gamers reports that the first previews out in magazines on Far Cry 2 are glowing: 94%, 9/10 and 9/10. PC Gamers gave the game 94% saying:
“The basis of Far Cry 2’s story telling: Characters and situations are swapped via a software author, its responding to choices made by you the player. Its something that’s been on the cards for some time – mostly in research projects – but this is the first high-profile game to use it.
Its nothing less than a revelation.”

Next to the OXM review reported on above the official PS3 magazine rates it 9/10 as well:
“Whatever happens you’ll believe it’s a real world and a fantastic setting for the action.”

IGN has released four new Far Cry 2 video’s all shot at the 2008 Tokyo Game show. The video’s are all showcasing the PC version of Far Cry 2. Since four embedded video’s take up quite some space, you will find direct links to the video’s below:

Ubisoft introduced the ‘Friday for Friends’ in their weekly update. In these items we will meet new in game buddies each week. This week’s turn is for Josip Idromeno and Paul Ferenc:

Wow are my first thoughts with this game, Farcry2 is bringing alot to the table, always a risky time to bringing a game out so close to xmas, but anyone who is anyone & most gamers in general with have this title. but the farcry 2 title is really leaps and bounds above all other upcoming games.

“Next one in line to enlighten us about the multiplayer experience is Kikizo with a new hands on preview published on their website today.

Although they have initial doubt with the relative blandness of the Far Cry 2 modes and possibilities, Kikizo does think that when seeing it mixed all together we do get a pleasant experience:

“We were a little dubious at this, but fortunately Richard Gaetan’s observations – and our initial impressions – don’t do the reality of Far Cry 2 multiplayer justice. The nuts and bolts of the beast are indeed straightforward, but the manner in which they lock together certainly isn’t.”

Kikizo then sheds some more light on what classes we have in MP, what ranking up is about and what they mention a few gameplay possibilites Far Cry 2 provide:

“As in the single player campaign, when you heal you’ll actually see yourself dig shrapnel out of your limbs or twist broken bones back into place. Such sequences are painful to behold; on a practical level, they also leave you stationary and defenceless for several seconds. Being about as sportsmanlike as a pack of hyenas, we were very willing to take advantage of such incapacity, much to the irritation of fellow journalists.”

Now not many case companies can come up with case after case but coolermaster seem to be able to come up with the good time after time, they have not produced many bad cases at all, well as i am not being paid for tihs review i can however tell you that their power supplies suck ! and are likly to blow up in your face lol (read the fine print they probably explain that).

Ok ok no more cheap shots, In our quick review today we are reviewing the “Cooler Master ATCS 840” and we since we dont actually have a case here (YET, hint hint mr & mrs coolermaster) we can only go on looks & general design.

well as you can see it does uze some class, coolermaster are popular cases to build with as they are usualy very friendly to work with, aloow for great airflow which is important these days, and are very mobbable (Case modding is very popular in this day and age). The Cooler Master ATCS 840 wont make your game any more enjoyable or make far cry 2 go any faster, well we hope it doesn’t as we dont have one here (yet lol) but all in all its quite a nice case.  i just went to link you guys up to the product but it seems its not out yet so instead of deleting what i just spent 20 minutes writting i’ll leave this here and when it comes out you can say you heard it here first..

We are starting to get a lot of emails from you guys linking us to far cry 2 videos, so what we have done is uploaded all the far cry 2 videos up onto youtube (personally I’m not a big fan of youtube as the quality sucks) Never the less the far cry 2 readers are always right.
