Of course Ubisoft’s Dunia-powered Far Cry 2 will be officially released only next week – on the 21st in North America and the 24th in Europe, but AMD may be betting on an early leak.

The hotfix is available for download in both Windows XP (32/64bit) and Vista (32/64bit) flavors via the following links:

IGN had their reporters Alex Simmons and Martin Robinson sit down to have a go at multiplayer and while they do emphasize that Far Cry 2 MP has some nice distinguishing features their overall conclusion is unmistakable:

“Unfortunately the main shooting mechanics of Far Cry 2 don’t stand up to the opposition, it’s not as fast or precise, and that’s quite obvious in multiplayer. It’s not as solid a shooter as either Halo 3 or Call of Duty 4, and I’m not sure if it does enough different to oust either of those games from the top spot.”

“That’s what I was saying earlier – it does what it does well, but it’s nothing outstanding.”

There are feature that are much appreciated by IGN as well like the vehicles, reviving, self healing to name a few.

However at the end of the day according to IGN Far Cry 2 is mainly a singleplayer experience and with some spare time an hour or two on multiplayer should not be a waiste of time:
” Far Cry will always be a single-player game to me – that’s why I’m excited about playing through Far Cry 2, to explore the open world and have an experience that’ll be different from anyone else’s. And while I don’t think the multiplayer has to same edge as Call of Duty, I do think it’s an entertaining way to spend a few hours. I’ll definitely give it a go when the final game comes out.”

IGN has released four new Far Cry 2 video’s all shot at the 2008 Tokyo Game show. The video’s are all showcasing the PC version of Far Cry 2. Since four embedded video’s take up quite some space, you will find direct links to the video’s below:

We are starting to get a lot of emails from you guys linking us to far cry 2 videos, so what we have done is uploaded all the far cry 2 videos up onto youtube (personally I’m not a big fan of youtube as the quality sucks) Never the less the far cry 2 readers are always right. Far Cry 2 latest video

we will be uploading some more far cry 2 videos over the coming days. Most of the videos you are seeing around the place are taken from the far cry 2 beta, and are not 100% what the time will have in it by the time it is released, The far cry 2 release date is 23/10/08 for and of you who may of been wondering when is far cry 2 being released.

Now should a far cry 2 movie be released I’m sure there would be investors a mile long lining up to get in on the action. This wouldn’t be the first game to turn into a movie there are several who have made an interesting profit from doing so, Resident evil, doom, duke nukem, star ship troppers.. The list goes on and on.. Anyway we will keep you up to date as always should any more news arise, we are looking into this with great interest.

It is however only “YouTube” quality but it gives you a good indication of just what to expect. Far cry 2 dot org (US) will be implementing a video script shortly that will support HD streaming, far cry 2 really needs to be viewed in all its glory for you to get an understanding of just how great far cry 2 is going to be.

Ok now Please & i stress please take into account these are for far cry 2 (Very Low Settings) for the pc, now xbox, ps3, Nintendo wii settings will look a lot better i was simple posting these far cry 2 low settings so that your average pc user (average rig) would not be put of by the sexy photo’s that are going around regarding far cry 2. These photo’s are entry level settings but you can archive a playable state of far cry 2 game play at these settings without all the eye candy ( you could probably go alright too, as most are all going for looks these days and not the reason they are play ).

Anyhow when you compare these far cry 2 low quality pictures to our high defenition / HD far cry 2 images you can see a huge difference, But credit must be given to UBISOFT for such a great effort to involve all pc owners, Far Cry 2 not that long ago looked as it would need a (NERDY / HIGH END) system in order to run, Clearly that is not the case. We will keep you posted as soon as more far cry 2 information arises.

Ok well here is a brief run down of what we intent to do with this site & the features we will be implementing:

As fellow gamers we intend on setting up the largest far cry 2 community, far cry2 is going to be one kick ass game thats for sure and its about time people had a better choice of games and far cry 2 will deliver that for certain. -Game Server Tool (So you can hunt down your far cry 2 friends / clan members)

Far Cry 2 is a game that many predict will out last most others, So lets hope we can pull some people out of battlefield 2, Quake wars, TF2, call of duty world at war & all the other games people love, lets create a huge friendly far cry 2 community for all to enjoy.
